My name is Jason Randall, I'm nineteen years old and I work in a shop.
Since finishing my A-levels at college I took two years off, I wanted to achieve a lot in them two years, however I regret to say that I didn't, at all. The first thing that I aimed to do was to get a job as a photographer working for a local studio, however I was knocked back due to fact that they were already over staffed, so I settled for the next best thing...a corner shop.
I'm making it sound terrible however I think it's one of the best things that has happened to me. My job has become the center of almost every day of the week, except my only day off. working in a shop I have several duties such as serving on the till and stocking up, however in the past year my duties have become more important to the whole company (there are a total of three shops with a fourth on the way).
After being promoted to assistant manager I was given more responsibility, such as cashing up the shop at the end of the night, filling the cash machine with thousands of pounds, handling tricky customers, and looking after staff. During the time that I'm performing these duties I am on my own, that is to say my manager is elsewhere at another shop, and so the responsibility of the running of the whole shop falls down to me.
My photography is still a huge part of my life though, as in my time off I'm looking for anything that would pose as interesting composition. However recently my work has become more commercial.
I have done quite a few jobs for customers, photographing there children, themselves and even weddings.
A photographer's work I really admire is that of Richard Vantielcke, a French photographer. Most of his work is quite dark and it inspired me to do several shoot that are below
The work submitted below is just a few of my favorites and work people have suggested that they like.
All of them have had minor altercations on Adobe Photoshop, however most of them are just small tweaks.
